Design Principles Part 2

You have 100 minutes to complete this assessment.

You are going to generate a poster for each of the 6 design principles.

Skills required:

• Understanding on the 6 design principles.
• Basic Typography terminology: Font, size, Serif vs San-Serif
• Photoshop
• New Document, Compositing, Layers, Selections- make, add, subtract from a selection,

Option A

Use your mock up as a guide and create 6 new designs completely on your own with shapes and fills.

Using Photoshop create each document 11" x 8.25", 100 ppi

Create a folder named "Design Principles" in your student directory and save as:

• yourStudentID_balance.psd
• yourStudentID_alignment.psd
• yourStudentID_repetition.psd
• yourStudentID_contrast.psd
• yourStudentID_space.psd
• yourStudentID_proxmitity.psd

Option B

Think about what kind of space you would like to work in. Find images of office spaces or items that you would include in your office space.

1. Make an office wish list of 5 items.
2. You are going to use the design prinicples to generate a poster uisng images from your wish list.
